'She Didn't Ring' is a song I wrote years and years ago (Thanks Rebecca for never calling me back, I knew there was a reason for it!) and I'd forgotten all about it. I wanted to record a song of mine during the session and the original intention was to write something specific about Elvis and the influence he's had on my life. I kicked a few ideas around at home but everything seemed to sound very contrived and forced; something good music should never be.
I then remembered this song. It's got a very basic 12 bar blues-type arrangement and always seemed to go down well live whenever I'd played it in the past. I decided to give it a try and it worked out just fine!
