Sitting behind the Prime Minister Tony Blair. Labour Party Election Rally, Hove, England - May 1st 2005. I make national news (sort of!). I was one of the people chosen to sit behind Tony Blair as he made his speech in Hove just days before the General Election. Whatever you may think about his politics the man knows how to command a stage. Completely unscripted he spoke for 45 minutes and there is absolutely no denying his passion. Hove is an important seat for the Labour Party as it was one of the safest Conservative Party seats until Labour's historic election win in 1997. The Conservatives put up a real fight to regain this seat and Labour clung on by the thinest of margins. This was Tony Blair's last major Election rally and it was great to watch him in action. And I got to be on the telly!!!!
